Executive Functioning Program
Purpose
This program aims to enhance executive functioning skills, improve focus, and reduce stress. It emphasizes self-regulation skills and developmental concepts that contribute to motivation, self-responsibility, and behavior management; enhancing success in academics, work, relationships, careers, and various other facets of life.
Age
This program is suitable for anyone aged 8 and older who is willing and committed to making meaningful, lasting changes.
Length of Program
Approximately 60 hours, usually conducted over 10 consecutive weekdays, with up to 6 hours of follow-up consultation included.
Outcome
Upon completing the program, clients will gain tools and skills to help them initiate, plan, organize, set goals, solve problems, maintain focus, remember information, regulate emotions, sustain effort, and monitor behavior. These foundational skills support success in school, work, and life.


Develops
Working Memory
The ability to retain information for processing, including identifying key points, considering all information, and creating a coherent story in a logical sequence. A well-functioning working memory is essential for reading comprehension, following instructions, engaging in conversations, and performing mental math
Inhibition
The capacity to resist immediate impulses in order to remain focused on a task until completion. This also includes the ability to stay on topic and avoid tangents in conversation.
Planning & Organization
Effectively planning and organizing time, information, and tasks. This encompasses following instructions accurately, completing tasks punctually, avoiding procrastination, and creating order in both work and home environments.
Multi-tasking
Managing interruptions and returning to the original task. This includes performing actions while talking and prioritizing tasks based on importance
Emotional Control
Regulating emotions to maintain an optimal level for productivity and achieving desired results
Initiating
Starting tasks, knowing where to begin, and determining subsequent steps. This includes conversation, storytelling,, writing and projects.
Focus & Energy Management
Adjusting energy levels according to the task at hand, enabling focus during lectures or projects without daydreaming, and planning ahead to prevent negative outcomes
Shifting Focus
Flexibly transitioning or shifting attention when changes occur. This involves adapting methods when beneficial, exploring multiple solutions to a problem, and evaluating situations to predict outcomes.
Self-Monitoring
Being aware of when changes are needed and recognizing errors. This includes staying on topic during discussions, noticing topic shifts in group conversations, and accurately answering questions. It involves recognizing mistakes, such as spelling or punctuation errors in writing, and making accurate judgments about one’s own and others’ behavior.
Abstract Thinking
Understanding non-verbal communication, including conveying messages that go beyond words through tone of voice, body language, and facial expressions.
